Our activity:
Givat Zeev is a local council in the Jerusalem area located 15 minutes from the capital. The quality population is diverse, reflecting the Israeli mosaic of cultures to include religious, Orthodox, secular, young people, senior citizens, Israelis and new immigrants.

The OMETZ Givat Zeev branch is active in two of the main public schools in the town – Agamim Public School and Yaad Public School. In the past (and hopefully in the future), the branch has participated in the educational activities in the local junior high school with local youth.

In addition to the consistent and consecutive activity in educational institutions, OMETZ National Service volunteers at Givat Zeev are recognized and admired figures in the community. They are present at events, participate in special projects and oversee pupils outside school. For example, the volunteers, in conjunction with the facilitator, are responsible for the town Bible Quiz program, youth club activities, etc. The branch also cooperates closely with the local community center and the volunteers participate in informal activity in many areas such as story time, Tu BeShvat seder, lighting Chanukkah candles together with the senior citizens, etc.

The Garin:
OMETZ volunteers in Givat Zeev activities are run under the Elor Garin, a Garin family active in the town for a long time. The volunteers play a significant role in all activities related to the Garin, such as Garin Shabbat, joint prayer on Yom Kippur for secular and religions volunteers, tours during Sukkoth, etc.

Our vision:
our vision at the Givat Zeev branch of OMETZ is to forge a real connection between the populations of the town while increasing awareness of Jewish identity and Jewish values. To accomplish this, the OMETZ National Service volunteers work hard to prepare lesson plans, participate in special events, etc. They are active above and beyond the requirements in a strong belief in what they are doing.
