Our Activities
Or Yehuda is a vibrant city located in central Israel with a population of 40,000, 10,000 of whom are children and adolescents of all ages. The city’s population is heterogeneous, with the population being composed of religious, secular, Orthodox Jews, native born Israelis, new immigrants, young and old families alike.

The OMETZ branch in Or Yehuda operates in all public elementary schools in the city as well as in preschools, social services clubs, community centers, etc. The National Service volunteers at OMETZ are well connected to the community and are supported by the educational institutions and residents. The activity in the branch extends beyond school walls, into informal frameworks and various events throughout the year. Located in the center of the country, Or Yehuda is accessible to the entire Gush Dan and central regions by transportation. Every National Service volunteer is assigned an adoptive family in the city and service in the Or Yehuda branch is challenging, fulfilling and enriching.

The Garin National Service volunteers in the OMETZ branch in Or Yehuda is essentially an integral part of the Garin Torani (Torah-oriented community) that has been operating in the city for many years. The National Service volunteers serve as part of the Garin National Service volunteers who are closely overseen by the training coordinator in the branch as well as by the Coordinator of the National Service volunteers. In addition, every National Service volunteer is assigned an adoptive family from among the Garin families who accompany her throughout the National Service period in Or Yehuda.

Our vision: the OMETZ Or Yehuda branch operates based on a sense of calling and to empower Jewish identity in Israel. Primarily among populations that are not part of the national religious sector. The branch operates in all public elementary schools in the city, and is striving to expand its reach in the community to other areas such as informal education.
